Series 2 Race 4
The day started with breeze from the East at about 14kts; pretty good for a fractional J/29. It didn't last. By the time the race started the breezed swung right and dropped below 10kts.
We had a bad start. I thought the current was running out harder that it was. To make matters worse I couldn't get the boat moving. In hindsight I think the jib trim was a little tight. There were enough shifts that we were able to move forward in the fleet, but our poor boat speed made it hard to hold a lane.
The rig was tuned to base. I might loosen the lowers next time. The headstay seemed to have enough sag.
