Weds 8/10

This week was windier (~16kts) at the start than when I took the photos below. I wasn’t sure if we were going to use the #2 or AP. So I added forestay and rig tension assuming we’d use the larger sail.

We sailed the first leg with the #2. Most of the time we had enough power, but with the wind dying, we changed to the AP on the first run. By the end of the race we were over tuned. We finished second. The J30 corrected two seconds ahead of us.

Headstay carries significantly less sag. Reduced Halyard tension by 5 inches.

The helm had much more feel. Boat speed was better. We finished 3rd after a terrible start. The guys feel the sail trim differently from one tack to the other.
